Solo Solis is a European sunglasses wholesaler with a home base in ‘s-Hertogenbosch in the Netherlands. The innovative sunglasses importer was founded in 2015 by the makers of Cheapass Sunglasses, one of Europe’s largest online retailers of sunglasses. It sells, supplies, and delivers innovative and modern sunglasses worldwide. Therefore, the B2B webshop has been made multilingual and offers a wide range of payment and shipping options.

The Challenge
Solo Solis faced significant challenges with its existing Solo Solis and Cheapass webshops, which had become outdated and unstable due to extensive customization. These issues led to poor performance, resulting in a suboptimal user experience and reduced business efficiency. The client aimed to create two stable webshops using the Hyvä theme—one targeting the B2C market and the other for B2B customers.
The primary challenge was integrating all custom functionalities from the old webshops into a new Hyvä Magento environment while maintaining the essence of the original design.
What did Younify do?
To tackle these challenges, we comprehensively reviewed the old Magento environment, cataloguing all installed extensions and custom developments. We collaborated closely with Solo Solis to identify custom work that could replace existing extensions, simplifying the transition.
Once we understood the necessary extensions and custom work, we initiated the development of two new webshops using the Hyvä template. We allocated resources to this project, assembling two specialized teams—a backend team and a frontend team—to ensure efficient and effective execution. Given the years of development and optimization invested in the old sites, Solo Solis requested that the new webshops replicate the old design as closely as possible using the Hyvä template.
Our designer created the new webshops to reflect the original design, ensuring familiarity for returning customers. Before launching the sites, we switched hosting providers to ensure the webshops were hosted on a super-fast platform, significantly boosting performance.
